so instead of using regular pins for pegboard these are what i use, they are used normally to add a swag to to top of a window dressing. I once used the pegs and thank G"d i wear spectacles or i would probably be less an eye as i leaned forward to get something one day and almost took out my eye on a pin sticking out of my pegboard, this was the alternative.
I hope this comes in handy for someone out there who just loves pegboard as much as i do. If you have a problem getting them, pls be in touch as they are relatively inexpensive and i would be more than happy to help you get your hands on them should you be wanting to use these instead of the pegs

This was what my shop looked like around 11 years ago, well after having the shop and teaching in the shop five days a week aswell as two evening classes, i had a bit of burnout and decided to close the doors, yes with all this stock still in the shop i closed and went home. I got a wooded shed and continued to craft on my own in my own time, No more classes and not more pressure. then we bought a house and my husband converted our dbl garage into a studio for me. That became my new paper haven, and for the last three years i have crafted on my own and enjoyed doing things i love. After all this time on my won i have finally started working on my scrapping pages, 3d paper projects, mini albums etc. so now this is the space i have:

When my husband first built my new craft room i couldnt decide how to store my dies, i initially had them in a box that i had to pull out and flip through, then i had them on this cube on the floor that i kept gettting stabbed by the pins and almost lost an eye searching for something.

then i built the cube on a stand that i could wheel around to where i wanted it, but it kept getting in the way.

And finally one day while browsing pn pinterest i saw something similar to what i found to be my solution, this guy had used it for storing something in his tool shed, i decided, this is it FINALLY!!!

A frame hanging on the wall takes up no space at all and i just added sheets of peg board with little hinges and in between i added board that i glued magnetic sheeting to so i could add the dies that cant be hung.

for the ones that i could hang i just used swag pins as they dont protrude, as you can see there are loads you can store on this solution and i have also spaced them so that i can keep adding to it, he he.

hope someone finds this solution useful
I know that you probably been thinking i have fallen off the face of the earth, but alas i am still here.
I made this altered clock some time back for Magnolia Sweden and just never got round to sharing it, so since i been thinking of sharing more of my scrapbooking project on my scrapping blog i decided to pop in and share this little project too.

will share more when i find more time and stop chasing my tail
you can barely see the entrance wound here
once it was through, i had to pull it out again! cos i had a latex glove on while i was working with silicone!
and then of course it was so dirty, as you can see by the sight of the handle, i had to get the tetanus shot just to be on the safe side.
well i am all healed, however working furiously on a few things for the Magnolia ink so i am not sure if i will have anything else to share for a while
see you soon
smiles
Above are my paper stands that i just couldnt llive without, this is certainly not ALL the paper but i put the newest ones on here as i get them so i know what i have, there are other papers stashed away that i go through every now and again when i cant find what i want.
this here is my pride and joy!! i had an old tv stand in my wood workshop, it was calling to me for months before i had one of those lightbulb moments!! i made a frame to fit the top, added pin boards to the frame, then added another layer inside so that i could stick magnetic sheets to it for all those dies that cant hang.

here you can see the panel that opens with the magnetic sheet on the inside. this stand, being on wheels can turn and move around, each of the four sides opens like this, so i can store a WHOLE LOT OF DIES!!
those boxes that you see at the bottom of that stand were tamato boxes kindly donated by Dale a friend who also has a lot of them in her studio, i painted mine and then put a black chalk board paint strip across the front so i could label what was in each box, i also made liners for them, thats the checked fabric you see peeping out of the box.
I hope that some of these storage ideas will help others.
have a great weekend

I had a vision for this image, but if i tell you when i look at it now, i ask myself "what was i thinking?"
the
paper is too busy and my image seemed to get a bit lost. However i
thought i would share with you anyway, since i know that i havent posted
much lately.
I was reorganising my studio a few weeks ago and
pushed a wall unit that i hadnt unpacked, across the room and managed to
tear the ligaments in my back, so i have kinda been man down! will be a
few more weeks before i manage to feel 100 % again, but am pleased to
share that i am feeling a lot better.

so
for my card i used lots of layers of die cuts and doillies, tons of
Gesso on each layer, a pearly flourish and i would have liked to have
made the image appear as if she were on a layer of flowers, oh well you
win some and lose some. I haven seemed to recieve any new stamps in
months so i went ahead and bought this one as i just had to have her.
Hopefully the postman will bring me some new stamps soon so i can get
inspired by all the new stamps out there and start to share some more of
my work.
I colored her with copics, used one of my new crealies dies, layered to best feature my image, and of course, loads of flowers, a birdcage from memory box, and do you see that paper clip? i just had to try and reinvent the humble paper clip. i added a few beads to it and i love that it now has some pizzaz!
i have had so much fun in the last couple of weeks, making these vinatge trailers. I have been inspired by the original that came from Fabienne HERE
There was another one that was also made and posted on pinterest, and here is her blog link too: Tara also has a cutting file that you can use if you have an electronic machine, which i dont have. For me it was a wing and a prayer, so each of the three trailers that i made are different in size and decor.
WARNING!!! TOO MANY PICTURES........
Unfortunately in order for you to see the full thing i have to show you all these pics. I just loved over embellishing these and had ssssooooo much fun...
Time for out weekly challenge on Mo's digital pencil and this week its time for " Lets chill" I'm sure those of you on the opposite side of the globe to me are chilling right now, as we are sweltering in the heat where i am. Oh yes, i have the aircon cranked up and never wanna leave my craft room, its so hot!!
I have another Christmas card to share this week: Lots of layering and some heat embossed white embossing powder that has been laying in a box for ever, i remembered it and used it, but i think the gesso does a far better job, so will have to rethink this idea.

I gotta say at this point, the red on my card was all wrong for the paper, just couldnt seem to get the right shade of red, but other than the little red issue i am quite pleased. Of course the image is available from Mo's online store and i look forward to seeing all the fabulous takes on Mo's great images.
have a great crafty weekend
i gotta tell you straight off my bloggy friends that this business of Christmas cards is wearing me a little thin.
However
having said that i know that a few of my Christmas celebrating friends
and family will be quite cross me being a card maker if i dont make the
effort to make something for them.
So i am on a bender of making tags. I saw the challenge on Moving along with the times
to use a spotlight technique, which i havent done for a while, so here i
am entering their challenge. will list another couple at the end of my
post.
of
course the stamps from Magnolia Sweden, the background is the winter
day background, i just strategically masked my Edwin on top of the house
so you couldnt see it.
the papers are from Graphics 45
i
gave my layers a good going over of Gesso which i gotta say i am loving,
and then of course everything got the stickle treatment and loads of
pearls, buttons and some jute twine.
Apparently NOTHING! it doesnt matter that you spend years building a
blog, if someone else spent a few months working on a conflicting blog
with the same name, you can blow it through your butt.
It doesnt
matter that i have worked my butt off trying to get my blog going and
followers up, someone else worked hard to get a dt together, and a
banner made, etc, etc. So the bottom line is get over myself and live
with it! If the intent was not there when they chose a conflicting name
for their blog, IT MAKES IT ALL OK! Because the challenege blog looks
proffesional, IT MAKES IT OK!
Well as sorry as they are that i am disgruntled, i am not sorry that i am having my say.
Do i wish them succes? HELL YES
Magnolia's
are a fabulous stamp range and i love them or i wouldnt be working for
Magnolia Sweden, it just doesnt make me any more comfortable, when they
say, "We didnt know about you, and chose the name before we heard about
you"
What is the bottom line they say: "BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET
OVER IT, WE ARE USING THE NAME, OUR BLOG IS PROFFESIONAL, WE HAVE A DT!
AND BLOGGER SAID ITS OK!"
the fact that it took me two years to build my blog and am sponsored by Magnolia Sweden: means naught
compared to:
getting a dt together, challenge sponsors and the proffesional look of a blog and the fact that it took a couple of months to put together.
Time for another one of my rants: Yes i know i do this from time to time and i appreciate all your patience with me when having one of my rants, but this is just ludicrous.
We all of us as bloggers know how hard we work for the upkeep of our blogs and take tremendous pride in them even when we get busy with real life and our blogs take a bit of a back seat in the big scheme of things. I started a Magnolia blog two years ago and called it Marvellous Maggies i gotta tell you i haggled over this name for quite some time before deciding on it, lo and behold if someone doesnt decide to call their challenge blog Marvellous Magnolia, now how close is that for comfort? Really original wouldnt you say?
I really just wanted to have a little rant and ask those of you that read my blog how you would feel if your blog name was <strike>stolen</strike> reused? Couldnt they come up with anything more original? how do you stumble upon a name and decide well if i misspell marvellous and call it the full Magnolia name, is that acceptable?
Really i often wonder if this blogging lark is worth the trouble. I have had my Marvellous Maggie blog since early 2011, and now this challenge blog has popped up in October 2012.
Good one! let me hear your thoughts
have a great weekend while i stew in my juices, lol
smiles
Paola
P:S: the saddest thing is that there is nothing i can do about it
besides for rant on my blog, since this is MY blog i can say what i
like.
i find it hard to believe that the owner of the abovementioned challenge blog didnt know about my name since its been in the Magnolia Ink magazine for two years now and its been all over the Magnolia Sweden blogs etc

hi there friends, this week on Mo's challenge blog our challenge is "C is for......" and mine is for "Challah" in case you're wondering what "Challah" is, it is also known as Kitke. It is the bread that we break on Sabbath for the blessing at our Sabbath table, and the plaited bread that this adorable image is holding in her hands.

I colored my image with copics, and i wanted to try my hand at the shabby chic thing since i dont feel like i do it very well, i am quite pleased with this little beauty.
i added lots of distressing and a few torn details to give it the shabby look, a bit of antique linen around the edges, and some corrugated board all to add to the feel.
