Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

This is the last week that i am hosting the challenges for Mo's challenges and this week i challenged the girls to "Alter something"  I have had these starbucks cups laying around for quite sometime and i love using them in my craft room/studio as if they topple over there is no mess and of course your coffee stays warm for ages.  I also like to grab coffeee on my way out the house when i grab my water bottle and these are ideal, NO MESS.

I have been wanting to personalise my cup for so long and thought this would be the golden opportunity and what better way that to have Mo's fabulous Bethy's wagon on your cup.  I aksed my seven year old daughter what she thought of the image and she said that it looks like little Bethy is selling her brother and sister so that was what i used for the sentiment on the wagon "family good to go", i wrote the sentiment, but when i did i looked at my childs handwriting and you know how kids sometimes get their letters back to front so that was how i wrote it.  I also added a bit of a distressed look to the wagon, giving it a bit of a paint peeled look.  I followed a tutorial on Debbie Pamment's blog using paint net, which is a free downloadable programme, and trust me, she made it so easy to follow, as we all know i have MAJOR technology issues, being a child born in the sixties.  If i can do it anyone can.
My image is colored with copics, i used prima flowers with buttons in the centre and a bit of twine, i added a stretch of lace where i joined my paper to fit the length of my cup.  I am so pleased with my new cup and if i wanted to i could have added so much more as there is a gap between the inside of the cup and the outside, however i didnt want to distract from this stunning little image.

I know its a long post and has lots of photos, but how do you take a picture of something thats round? any tips, LOL
Hope you will come and play at Mo's this week
Enjoy!

Some news!!!

Do you remember me doing a few posts about upcoming dt calls, one of them was for The Pixie cottage, i am so pleased to announce that i made it onto the team.  When i read my email to noitfy me, the email started off with apologies, so my heart dropped and i thought well another one i missed, but reading further down the apologies were for taking so long to let me know that i had made it onto the dt.  You know one of those that you start reading and your heart sinks and you continue reading and then its like getting a breath of fresh air and YYIIPPPPEEEEEE!!!!
On a sadder note though, i applied to another dt aswell and just felt that in the long run i am way over extending myself, so i had to decline.  I am very busy at the moment trying to sort out table decor etc for my sons upcoming wedding.  Initially everybody said after the engagement well at least you have a whole year to get organised, well we only have five months left till the big day, and boy did that creep up on us.  I havent organised a dress for myself or the my little ones who are gonna be in the retinue, i havemt started on the invitations, we havent sorted out a menu, so much to do and very little time left.  I am absolutely overwhelmed.
Pop back later this morning as i will have another posting for Mo's dt assignment
Thanks for stopping by and reading through my waffling

A spoonfull of sugar dt

A quick post this morning to remind you that its time for another challenge on ASFOS, this week its spots and stripes, we're being sponsored by Meljens designs, you gonna have to pop over to ASFOS for all the details as this post is really rushed.
For my card i used a LOTV stamp that i had been putting off using for a while as i seem to have a real block when it comes to making boy cards, even although i have two male sons.
My image was colored with copics, i think the buttons are something we all turn to when it comes to masculine cards, i used another of my MS border punches , and cut my image with a nestie label.
Do pop in to see what the other girls have made for inspiration, i promise to come back and share more of whats going on in my life soon...

Tilda for two challenges

I have been working like a demon and thought that while i am trying desperately to catch up on all my dt commitments, there's no harm in playing a little.
I made this card to enter into:
MDUC: lace and flowers
Just Magnolia: fabby sketch

I distressed all my edges with distress ink, added some lace that i have in my stash, the sentiment is a WOJ sentiment, i had to use my Marianne design flourish and added loads of star dust.
I colored my image with copics: B93, B95 and the white areas with B10, gave my white areas a good going over with stickles.  My image was cut with a Nellie Snellen.

Totally gorjuss dt

Challenge 49 on Totally gorjuss this week is "Christmas", have y"all started getting your Xmas cards done? well now will be a golden opportunity and also perhaps win somethng along the way with one of your beautiful creations, what a win win situation!
This is another one of those into the future posts from me as i am still deeply engrossed in the glow of high holy holdiays, so i hope y"all arent missing my ramblings too much, another week to go.
My card for this weeks challenge features another one of Mo's stunning images available HERE called "who me"
can you just see the guilt?  Yeah right "Who Me?"
I added some spica to the snow, however because the spica is so delicate you never seem to be able to capture it on camera, the snow flakes are punches and cuttlebug dies mised and then rhinestones add for an extra bit of glitz, image colored with copics, the corners are punched using MS iron fence, and i have added another one of my newly acquired ribbon sliders.
Have a great weekend

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

Hi stampers, while you are reading this i am well engrossed in celebrating the latest holiday in our Jewish calendar, and probably sitting down to lunch in our sparsely decorated Sukkah, pictures and details to follow...
This week on Mo's dp2 challenge blog i have challenged the girls to "Bling it on" we all know by now that i have a real weakness for bling, be that glittah or rhinestones, or sparkly bits and bobs, the more the merrier.
My other weakness is faeiries and i am using Fairy Kikki available HERE, i colored her with my copics, gave each layer of my dp a going over with diamond dust, i also used one of my newest favourites, my Mariannes disign flourishes and the circle frame is also one of Marianne's, the little ribbon slider i found at one of the local craft suppliers this week so sure you will see many more of these in different designs.  Not sure that you can see the spica that i added to her wings, but sure you will be able to if you click on the picture and get a closer look.  I decided to add teeny tiny rhinestones to the edges of the flourishes also, so lots of bling happening here.
Since i am scheduling this post and find it difficult to qrite in the future, i am all out of words, so please join in our challenge this week on Mo's challenge blog and if i havent left you a comment lately i promise to make a turn once i have all these holidays behind me and my kids back at school

Will enter this into the following challenges also, since i havent been entering challenges for quite sometime and also am in dire need of winning something for a change:

A spoonfull of sugar dt

Tuesday and its time for another challenge from ASFOS and its one of those really easy challenges this week as "Anything goes"
As we already know, or if you dont, when i am stuck for what to do i always seem to turn to my Magnolia stamps and i am loving my little honey Tilda of late.  I also taught a basic coloring course for the local South African girls this weekend for copics, which was a big hit.  For my class i made this card and then was able to use it for my dt card this week on ASFOS, what a win.
Colored with copics, and since i was teaching from this image i even have a list of the colors that were used, see below for the list.  I used spica for her wings, a Marianne design for the flourish, a single butterfly, and a few Magnolia garlands.  I just love this image on an easel, she always looks so good.
Hope you will join in the fun this week on ASFOS especially since the challenge is a really easy one
copics used:  R83, R81, Rv000, BG01, BG000, skin: E21, R20 and E00, hair: E25, E31, E53 and for the shadow: W3, W0

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

Another late posting from me today unfortunately, sorry.  I am still hosting the challenges for Mo's dp 2 challenges and my challenge for this week is "Bright white"
For my card i used the "bride and groom" available from Mo's store and i think its perfect for this kind of challenge as white on white is so elegant.  My flowers i made a while ago, and thought that they would be perfect for this card, i also like to use a lot of inking of my edges when using white on white as then you see the layers better.  I colored my images with copics, i embossed through my cuttlebug, the sentimetn on the tag is a Heidi Swap sentiment and the tag is a sizzix.
Something else which i so seldom do is decorate the inside of my cards, so for this wedding card i added a tag with a sentiment reading: "Love does not consist of gazing inot each others eyes, but rather in looking together in the same direction"
The dt have really done a fabulous job with this challenge so head over to the challenge blog  for some more inspiration.

A spoonfull of sugar dt

I honestly have no excuses for this card, other than to say i know i made it, but how or what i was thiking at the time, your geuss is as good as mine.
This week on ASFOS THEY'RE FALLING INTO FALL, well i think i may have just fallen.  I coolored up my image to match my papers that were way down in my stash, and the truth is i love this stamp and have had it for over a year, and its never seen ink, i thought i was loving it till i finished my card and sat back to take a proper look at it, :(
The girls on the dt have done a sterling job on their cards, so i ma sure they will inspire you to come and play with us at A spoonfull of sugar challenge blog this week.
Enjoy the week stampers
will be back soon as i am working on a few things for friends

Tilda for two challenges

Another card for today, yes this has gotta be a record for me, three posts in a day.
When i have time to play, its always my Magnolias that i seem to turn to, perhaps its because i have so many that have never even seen ink.  I cried for an age to get this darling couple and then never found the time to use them, so i decided for the challenge on Totally tilda who want to see hand made flowers, i would use this stamp, i am also gonna be using the sketch from  MDUC and enter this card there.  The sketch ahs lots of layers which i love and of course i have a weakness for sketches when i am playing as i dont really need to think too much.
i have used paper from 7 Gypsies that i have had forever, and all the rest of the paper is cardstock that i have run through the bug and embossed, used one of my ek success punches for around the couple, i know it looks rather uneven, but i kinda think it works for this style of card, used a large luggage tag for one of my layers, i hand made and paper moulded all my flowers using various punches and added lots of pearl garlands and flat backed pearls, after inking all the edges.  The lace was from my stash.  I gave the brides a tad of stardust to give it a bit of a shimmer not sure you can see it in the pictures.
thats me off to talk to the sand man
See you later in the week

Just Magnolia challenge

I know what y"all gonna be thinking that i have been really busy, but the truth is that i am suffering a bit of overkill from being with my family ONLY for the last three days and not been able to do any crating so my dh gave me a break to spend the day in my studio, how sweet.  Should think so after he dissapeared a whole lot of my goodies of my pc last week.
So the first card i am sharing this evening before i trot off to the land of nod, is for the challenge on Just Magnolia, i used Tilda with peony which i havent used yet and has been in my stash for way too long.  I have used my normal coloring medium of copics, sorry no list of colors.  The dp i also forgot to take note of, but i did use my new Marianne creatable for my flourish, and added lots of pearls and roses, aswell as a few pearl stamens, i also decided to pull out my sewing machine and stitch around each of my layers.
Have a great week, will be back with another card later

Kenny K's weekly challenge dt

Hi stampers, this week has been a totally mad week for me as we celebrated our Jewish new year, "Rosh Hashana", and i had geusts all week and then we went straight into Sabbath and if that wasnt enough we are now fasting today.
I did manage to get a card made for the challenge this week for Kenny K's Krafty Girlz even although i didnt think i would manage to get it done in time.  This week the challenge is for dry or heat embossing, now dont ask about the Orange, as i have no explanation for it, orange is not even a color i would normally use, but when i was looking at my paper with the image i had decided to use, thats what i came up with.  I'm using "Devilish Donna" available from Kenny's store, colored with copics, sorry forgot to note my colors, glitzed her wings, layered her onto a piece of card that was embossed with one of my cuttlebug embossing folders.  The sentiment is also a bug folder and the label is one of the cuttlebug cut and emboss folders that i inked up with a clear top boss pad before removing it from the folder and then added some embossing powder to and heat embossed.  The butterflies were punched and then run through the bug with random folders to have some dry embossing opn them too.  i decided at the last minute to add the ribbon and slider.
Have a great week

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

Its my third week hosting the challenges on Mo's digital pencil and i am just loving everybodies interpretations of the challenges, there is such a diverse group oof crafters out there.
This week i wanted to see how many different folds all you stampers in blog land could come up with, so the challenge for this week is "Folds and flowers" You can use whatever fold you want, be that a gate fold or a joy fold, anything but your normal folded in half card, he he
For my card i have used a double display fold and since this little darling "Christmas fairy mint" is one of the newer images from Mo's store, it goes without saying that i just had to use her.  I colored her with my copics and gave her a lavish going over with stickles and also gave her candy cane some dimensional glaze, i drew the two little pieces of candy for the one side of my dbl display, added lots of glittah to a few flowers that i punched and also added rhinestones to their centres.  The Xmas sentiment came with a magazine that also had a few images.
I hope my card inspires you to try one of the new folds out there and join in the challenge this week while i am trying to celebrate Rosh Hashana with my family, this is a scheduled post, but i will be back on track for a few days next week.

A spoonfull of sugar dt

Before i tell you about todays challenge on ASFOS i have a question, "whose husband is smarter than a fifth grader?" I dont see any hands, so let me tell you i could tear my hair right out by the roots today.  Firstly i am just about to go right over the edge as it is our Jewish new year tomorrow evening which means in my husbands book invite a million people for dinner, then he decides to change the carpets upstairs in all the bedrooms, aswell as bring me a new lounge suit, now i see you all thinking that you would just love that to happen. RIGHT! wrong, not the day before New year celebrations.  To top it all off, he has a terrible flue running temperatures in the 40"s and i am sure that he has done all of the above with good intentions, but how do you disconnect a computer without shutting down first so that all your settings get saved?  i ask you with tears in my eyes. I came home today to find all the cupboards unpacked beds disassembeld, computers unplugged, boxes everywhere and four strange black men working in my house.  Ok so after a day from hell i have now restored SOME of the damage, but i have lost my skype and various other goodies.  I just feel like going to bed and never getting up EVER!!
Now that all of that is out of the way i shall try to up my mood a little by telling you about my card for the dt challenge on A spoonfull of sugar.  We are being sponsored by Bunny Zoe who have some amazing new stock in their inventory so this may be the challenge you dont wanna miss out on.  Our challenge today is "Animal crackers" anything with an animal on it.  For my card i am using one of my new Kanban images that i have had for a few weeks and not seen ink yet.
Colored with my copics, used a bit of lace from my stash, flowers from the same place and so are the pearls.
Unfortunately i didnt take note of my copics or the name of this particular Kanban, but they are all adorable.  I was actually wondering if it is the same artist who does the lotv stamps as they are very similar, so if you know please let me know.
thats me for now while i go bury myself
chat later in the week when things are looking a little rosier.

Ladybug Tilda

Whenever i have time to play, i love to play with my Magnolia's, so inked up this darling little ladybug and colored her with my copics, and gave her lots of star dust stickles, layered her onto a nestie, following the sketch on sketch Saturday.

Its been such a long time since i won any of the challenges so i dont hold out much hope, but for me it was more about getting to play and being able to share my love of my little Maggies.
copics used:  R85, R83, R81, RV00
                       E31, E50
skin: E00, E21, R20
Hair: E25, E55, E53

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

I know i am a terrible hostess :(, you gonna have to forgive me, but my day did not start off well.  I awoke this morning with a migraine of note and it did not get any better as the progressed, by 2 this afternoon i wanted to throw up, thank G"d it has now dissipated somewhat and i am finally able to post this.
To make matters worse we are having major internet problems and i have been trying now for three and a half hours just to load my pictures, AAAAARRRRGGG!!!!

I have set the challenges for this month on Mo's dp2 challenges, and my first challenge for this month is "shades of age"  I want to see all those shades that make an item look "old": it can be distressed, it could be the colors, however you interpret aging.  I look forward to seeing everybodies different interpretations of the challenges that i have set this month, almost like a mother looks forward to watching her children try something new.  It give me such pleasure to see what comes flowing from the creative juices.

For my card i have used "Buds" again, i just love this image, available from Mo's digital pencil, colored with my copics,  i distressed all the edges and then stitched them and inked them, used very few klayers as i wanted a cleaner uncluttered card, and since we cant very well add flowers to boys cards i added leaves that i punched out with two different sized leaf punches.  I stamped my sentiment, a Su stampin brushed corduroy.

Have a fun weekend
