Unfortunately i definitely cannot ggo all the way to Sweden :(  however much i would love to go, the good news is that there will some of my fantastically talented dt teamies that will be giving demos etc, so if you able to you dont want to miss this event!!

TOMIC challenge #57

hi friends, we have a new challenge on TOMIC, this time around its "no character stamps + embossing and the sketch

i gotta say i quite enjoyed this challenge, as a challenge for me it was, i hardly ever make these kinda cards, but i knew i would need a wedding card soon, so thats what i made.

 no excuses here, but i gotta say that the gold coloring looks much better irl.

 i heat embossed the middle panel with gold embossing powder, something else that i havent done in ages, in fact i almost got rid of all the embossing powder and heat gun a little while ago

 the background i used a couple of the old cuttlebug embossing folders for

I know i have been MIA for a while, but am slowly getting back my mojo and crafting spirit, i have actually added one or two projects to my Marvellous Maggies blogif you would like to pop in there for a quick peek!

this card i just was itching to make, i had the image colored  a while ago, but hadnt made a card so decided that now would be an ideal opportunity, i also havent entered a challenge in about a year so am gonna use this card for a few challenges listed below.
recipe:

Image:  Flower fairy Tilda
inks: copics, memento tuxedo black, color box cats eyes: Prussian blue for around the edge of my papers and image, loads of stickles: star dust on the wings, icicles on the flowers
Papers:  cryogen pure white, MME, basil
Miscellaneous:  Flowers, ribbon charm, butterfly, rhinestones and pearls, garlands:  all from the never ending stash.

SA crafters looking to get away

I met an amazing lady the other day, she informas me that they do weekends away for crafters in SA.  I couldnt believe i hadnt heard about this.
Well they have a weekend planned for the 1st and 2nd of September, go check it out here
If that doesn't suit you, they are also doing a retreat to Clarens soon.
I just thought what an amazing idea for one to meet fellow paper crafters and get to play in a tranquil enviroment.

TOMIC #56 dt

Hi there bloggy friends, we have a new challenge on TOMIC, for "At the beach" with the addition of shells, they can be stamped or used as an embellishment.
I gotta tell you since i havent been well for the last few months i think my mojo has up and left me too, while i am trying to get better.

Products used:
copics for coloring, images stampes with memento
punches and dies:  Tag(magnolia doohickey), ek success punch that i managed to break while using it,
ribbons gauze and lace from the never ending stash
shells found at the beach and the moss from one of the local florists that i have had for a while
Stamps:  sentiment is one of those that we all find in the strangest places with no manufacturers details,
               Offshore Tilda, Sailor Edwin with telescope, and sea background
hopefully i will be back soon with more to share pls just be patient as life happens while we all think we have loads of time.

SNOW!!!! in Africa

it has been snowing all day
it started off as a light dusting and then it came down like a blizzard

hope this keeps up all night and we wake up tomorrow morning to a white world.
already told my kids no school tomorrow if its snowing, bring on the snow, yeeeeha!!!!!

this whole day has been just magical to me having grown up in SA what are the odds that i would ever encounter snow, and for my kids i think this may be a once in a lifetime phenomenon, why not enjoy it while we can i say.
