Magnolia-licious dt and a Chag Sameach

its a halloween challenge on Magnolia-licious with a fab photo to inspire you:
As usual for me i took the photo literally and made a card to suit the theme:

I had seen someone silhouette their images before and stored the idea away in the recesses of my grey matter specifically for to do this silhouette for halloween when the time came, but do you think i remeber where i saw it?  If you have seen this before it is not my idea, i stole the idea, but i so still think it works really well for this theme.  Ok here is is, thank you Maz for pointing me in the right direction and now that i have been back to take a look the original is far better than mine.  original idea by Patti Jo here.
I used a MS iron fence for the border around my images and a few flowers to hold the design together.
The image is item #334 Brother and sister available from Magnolia-licious store where Diana give you exceptional service and some fabulous discounts, you certainly will not be dissapointed.  Unfortunately i didnt have any halloween dp so made my own drawing spiders and webs and then made a web for the inside of my card also.
Do join us in our fortnight challenge and i look forward to seeing what you cleverly crafted people come up with.
To all my fellow Jewish peers, i would like to wish you all a Shana Tova vemetukah, A very sweet new year.

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

We have our new challenge on Mo's DP2 which is Autumn colors and there is also a photo to inspire you:
life seems to be dealing me a few challenges lately too, so if i am not around as much as i would like to be its not for lack of want but rather for lack of time.  I have also noticed that i have hit a small but significant milestone in my blog-a-sphere and have hit the 600 followers mark aswell as went over the 100 000 hits a while back so will certainly look through all the crafting goodies and hope i can offer up some candy.  Look out for it closer to the end of November once i have moved into our new Home.
for my card today i decided that since we are heading into summer in Africa it would be nice to use a summery image, even though the challenge calls for autumn colors i got to use the oranges etc.  My image is "Pineapple girl" available HERE from Mo's store, where you will surely find an array of fabulous images to inspire any occasion.
The leaves and flowers were made using the Marianne dies, must say i was a little dissapointed by the dies and ended up cutting a few of my own flowers as i found the die made them quite big.  i added a touch of diamond stickles to the edges of the rolled roses and wanted to leave the card as CAS as possible so as not to over power the image.
Look forward to seeing what you all come up with for this challenge

P.S: keep the peepers peeled for that candy closer to November

Magnolia-licious inspiration challenge

our new challenge for Magnolia-licious starts today, and what a challenge:

i really gotta add that i ummed and ahhed for quite a while before i decided what to do:
finally deciding on using #3035 Tilda in summer rain available from Magnolia-licious where Diana will give you discount and amazing service.
My dp is MME, i used my Magnolia dohh-hickey flourish which i must say is sadly not used enough, the little garlands are ones i made as i didnt have the right color to match my card.

all the flowers are from my stash, the dark turqoise ones i had to airbrush to get the color to match my project and that big Ass rhinestone i got recently in all colors, they just kinda spoke to the sparkly girl in me, lol.  The ribbon is one i bought ages ago thinking it would be great for Christmas projects, but worked for this too.

And a quick peek at the inside of my card

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

Mo's new challenge Boy Attitude went live yesterday, as you may have noticed i am late, so we gonna call this African time, lol.  I am beside myself trying to deal with the shenanigans of what goes on in the forsaken country.  I have been offline since Wednesday morning and am having serious withdrawals, thank G"d its up and running for now.
For my card i am using "Dream" and what can i say, i love this little guy, he truly looks like he is reaching for the heavens with his dreams.  Of course i colored him with my trusty copics.
then i am not sure if i am the only one, but i have a real problem with boy cards so not knowing what i was gonna add for embellishments, i had the idea to make little pinwheels with buttons in the centre.
The dp is one of those really old ones that i have had for eons, so dont remember who its by, i somehow think it was a Daisy D.
Have a great weekend

Faux pax, the other card

Now that you all have ahd a chance to look at my card for the Tomic challenge i thought i would post the one that i made when i got the challenge wrong, duh!
I'm not gonna go into too much detail as you can see the card is detailed enough and i am sure you all know by now that when you get me going you cant shut me up.  I will say this was a LOT of work.  I almost didnt have enough space for a patterned paper while i was doing it, had i known i was supposed to make my own background paper to start with i would have just stamped a few select flowers and perhaps some grass, but thats what you get for not paying attention.
on my first step: the back one i used:  butterfly background #521 and barefoot Tilda.  The butterfly background was masked and stamped twice so it would fit across the width of my card
on the middle step  i used:  Tilda with straw hat #3011 and Spring tree #657
on the front step i used:  Explore Tilda #211 and kneeling Tilda #259
All of the stamps are available from Magnolia-licious store where you get great discounts and Service with a smile, which i find so lacking in the world we live in today so it really is refreshing to find a store that still appreciates its customers.
I also found a challenge that this card fits so am gonna enter into the challenge on Its a Magnolia challenge

Tomic challenge #14

time for a fab new challenge on TOMIC and this week its "Make your own background paper"
First though, i wanna share with you that i am someitmes or most times a bit dippy, i seem to get things wrong, or misinterpret things and then get it all wrong, so dippy here, when i read the dt specs for this week i just saw make your own background, so i made a triple easel that i was so pleased with, loaded long before the challenge was due.  Just as well someone on the team is on top of things and they pointed out that i had made the wrong thing for our challenge this week.  So i scuttled around like a headless chicken and came up with this instead:  i will share the card "faux par" later in the week.
For my card on the Tomic challenge this week i made my background paper using a stamp that has bubbles on it, made by a local company.  I stamped the bubbles with top boss, on white cardstock, embossed with an embossing powder that has a light shimmer to it, no name left on the bottle its really old.  I then used Adirondack die ink pad "name this color" to resist the embossed bubbles and voila!  i love my bubbly background paper.

colored my image "swimming Tilda" with copics, and found these bubbles that i bought at Hobby lobby last year and made a shaker around my image with clear micro beads in it.  I added pink dew drops around the frame of my shaker, a pearly flourish down the side of my card and some fluffy wool that to me resembled seaweed.  I added a few glass garlands into the mix of flowers and left the inside of my card pretty clean and simple, but you can really see the nice bubbly paper.

have a great week

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

I know my blog has been rather quiet of late, lots going on behind the scenes, will update you soon
Fro now we have a new challenge on Mo's challenge blog set by the wonderfully talented Iulia who gave us this great sketch to work with:
i just love working with a good sketch, so easy, in light of that i do hope you will pop by and join our challenge.  Fro my card i used a newish image from Mo's new store called "little Elf Mim" isnt this just adorable?  Colored with my copics and given a good going over with star dust stickles.
The trim and pom pom on the elfs hat was given the flower soft treatment, and then just for good measure i added a punched poinsettia that i made using the Nellie Snellen punches and gave that some diamond dust.  The sentiment is one that i got last year from the LOTV while i was at the NEC.

Hope everyone is having a great week
