Magnolia stamp lovers recipe card

OOHH AHHH, i just love this new stamp, honey bee Tilda, isnt she just gorjuss?  I inked her up and colored her last week, but i have come down with my kids influenza and am man down, so i wanted to just post this one before i head for the covers.  I decided to make an easel card for this, also i wanted to use these new roses i got so i gave them a good spritz of the glittah treatment, some of my cherry blossoms i layered onto daisies, made little bunches to add to the corners of my card and had to add a few flat backed pearls, just for the finishing touches.  As you know, those of you that follow my blog i am making a recipe book for my future dil, so i thought that this would be a beautiful addition, i also added my favorite pancake recipe, FOOLPROOF!

Whiff of joy dt

On whiff of joy this week the challenge is to create a money holder or coupon holder, so i had the idea to create a card with a pocket to hold the cash and a place to add all the goodies that we all hope to be able to purchase with our money. Since money and shopping go hand in hand i thought shopping willow was also the appropriate choice of image. I colored her with my copics, and paper pieced her shopping bags, used a brochure fold and held it closed with a ribbon, added the few flowers and there you have it.

Your carriage awaits

Hi blog hoppers, hope everybody is well, i am pleased to announce that i am now only dealing with one sick body, my poor little 3 year old Eden, who still seems to be barking like a dog.  The weather is miserable, for those of you that dont know much about the African continent, we have some very cold weather fronts especially in Johannesburg where we are awaiting our winter, which is very cold and at the moment it has been raining since Friday.  Perfect weather to craft!

Enough small talk!  I am in love with my new stamps, cant get enough of them.  I made this carriage for our little Maid Marian that was colored in copics, the carriage is made with all my die cuts and punches.  The circle body of the carriage was made using a nestie, the door i used my colluzle, wheels from nesties, dont know what you call the bits where the driver of the carriage would normally sit but i cut those with my swirly ek success punch and the curtains are MS border punches.  Added loads of flat backed gem and pearls, and inked all the edges and then added some gold leaf to the outer bits of the carriage and wheels and used my fleur de lis for the bit at the top of the carriage.  Dp is one of those random ones we all have in our stash, it gave me the feel of spring with all those flowers so it worked for me.  Of course there is also lots of the glittah treatment.
I had every intension of listing my copics, but i have forgotten, what i used for what, here is a piccie of what i used, will try to remember for next time
thanks so much for stopping by, have a great week.
I'm entering this into two challenges:  scrappy frogs and One stop craft challenge

A spoonfull of sugar dt

Hope everyone is up for a nice easy challenge this week at A spoonfull of sugar we are wanting to see something 3d.  You know a box, a bag, a wallet, sky is the limit.  I lvoe these kinds of challenges cos i love to be able to see what i can come up with, and as far as i am concerned you can make anything out of paper, somewhere in my stash i have a grandfather clock that i amde that actually works, will share it with y'all later.  Well for this one i made a box.  Its an acetate gift box that houses two little candles that i used my mini Tildas from the spring kit, i stamped onto some trace paper, light weight trace, colored with my copics.  Now this technique is new to me and i messed up a couple of candles before i got it right.  The trick i found was to use some wax wrap over the image once you have it in place and then to heat the image onto the wax candle untile it appears to be one with the wax wrap and then slowly peel off the wax wrap paper.

The dp for this project is some Italian scrapbooking paper, dont remember the name of it, but i found loads of it in a shop that had it all piled up together and they were on sale so i took whatever i could, it was all floral and wall papery looking, but i love it.  I added a few bead pins and loads of flowers and pearls and then of course some lace that i have had in my stash forever.

So this is the second half of this.

Spesch stamps

I havent officially started my dt assingment with Spesch, but i have been loving playing with soem of the images and just thought i would share some of the cards that i have been putting together.

This one is the release for mothers day, isnt she gorgeous? you can buy her now from the Etsy store and of course all these other images are also now availalbe.  I think they are all just so adorable.

all round Magnolia

Hi blog hoppers, missing me?  Well i am still here just having one of my hormonal upheavals, or whatever, a bit of an emotional speed wobble i geuss we could call it.  I did manage to get some crafting done today, between taking temperatures and giving luke warm baths and wiping noses, what a nightmare!  My kids have influenza, for real, sore achy bones and sky high temperatures, the runny noses started today, ah well, hopefully this will better prepare the immune system for the coming winter.

So this here is a card and box that the card will fit into, there is another half of this ensemble that i can only share with you later in the week as i made the other half of this project for one of my dt's, so you will have to come back on Tuesday to see what it is.

I have used my midsummer Tilda and mini tilda for the box, colored with copics.  Cuttlebug corners, bead pins lots of flowers, spica all over her grey bits ont he dress and some fine glitter glass all round the image.  I cut the image with nesties and added more fine glittah glass to the edge of the nestie.  MDUC want charms on your card so i added a hand charm that has hand made on it and then i also added a little heart bleow the bow, Just Magnolia anything goes, so this beauty is gonna be used for those two challenges.

whiff of joy dt

We have another great sketch for you this week at Woj by the talented Bev and its for April showers, use lots of flowers, but when i made my card i didnt read the bit about lots of flowers so you will have to forgive me.
I had this stamp in my stash since December, isnt that sinfull, she is so sweet and never got used, truth is i forgot i had her and noticed today, well she wasnt even on eezimount so i had to do all that first.  Well she is now one of the used new stamps, colored with copics, dp is locally South African from Dalro designs.  This is one of those simplistic designs but i think it works.

A spoonfull of sugar dt

Oh my! late again, i seem to be late with everything these days, perhaps i am spreading myself too thin.  Well i made this card for our challenge this week for  a spoonfull of sugar and we're being sponsored by Whimsy stamps who i am sure you all know by now have some fabulous stamps, so i hope that you will pop over to our challenge blog and join this week, the dt have done a fab job on their cards.

I decided to use this Henry mouse with party hat since i have had him since December and isnt he just sweet.  I dont remember what paper this is, but i took some gift wrap ribbon to imitate the ribbon on my paper that also has the party hats on it, a few flowers and that is is.  A simple card today, but i am so exhausted and i have kids running very high temperatures with no explainable reason.

Technology Woes

Oh i could just rip every hair out of my head, i finally thought i had solved my camera porblems.  On Friday i had to take my camera back to the store where i bought it and spent 5 hours no less verbally cussing and phoning head office and talking to the heirarchy of the store and finally got a new camera for my efforts.  How has that hepled me?  not one bit, i now have a new camera that i have to sit and read the manual to opperate, so i think i have grasped the operation of this new one, yeah RIGHT! now when i try to load any of my pics to the dt blogs, it wont load.  So i am posting this card on my own blog that was intended for a dt submission, however it looks like i will have to come up with something new for that now.
This is one of the new spring kit stamps that i recieved on Thursday in the mail, is she not the most adorable little princess?  Lots of glittah which we all LOVE, some cherry blossoms, a few pearls and a ribbon for the girly feel.  I am gonna inter this into the Just Magnolia challenge since i used their sketch.

Gorjuss dt

I am late today with my post as my New camera decided it wasnt gonna work for me anymore after all my griping so as a result i am now without a camera to load my work onto my blog and had to go back to the dt blog and get my picture of this card to share with y'all.  Just this one pic unfortunately no detailed pictures until i can resolve my camera issues.  Well the call this week on our challenge blog is to have a charm on your card and we are being sponsored by crafters companion who have some fabulous items to choose from and i really hope this will encourage you to join us.  So my card this week i used khaki Tilda and summer background from Magnolia, i also used a grassy stamp that i think is from hero arts or one of those artsy companies that i never get stamps from but i paid a small fortune for this stamp and really dont think i will use it much, so i have used it once,he he.  My MS punch for the border, and i used one of my cuttelbug dies to make the little monkey and added tow tiny little beady eyey and then lots of flowers with pearly centres.  Now that darling little charm came from Euro disney with some toys for the kids when my husband took one of his business trips, and the children were gonna pull it off the toys and throw them in the trash, i'm so glad i rescued them since they go so well with this Tilda.
Please join us this week on Totally gorjuss

Surf's up for Tilda

Hi blog stalkers, he he.  I am so lucky to have made so many amazing friends in cyber space, thanks to this blogging lark.  On Monday i recieved a tag in the post to say that i had something waiting for me at the post office, well automatically you know its gotta be something exciting, well i didnt waste a minute, raced up there and lo and behold i got these GREAT Tilda's that i have been dying for since their release but never have been able to get till now.  My friend Penni whom i have never met only chatted to via email and our blogs, offered to send them to me when i was going on about loving them on an email to her.  How generous is that?
So now that i have waffled enough, here is the card its taken me a coouple of days to put together with my new stamps, between interruptions and phone calls and fetching and shlepping kids, FINALLY!
I followed the sketch on sketch Saturday, you will notice that i have taken one of my photos at a funny angle, because i added some spica over her legs and it shimmerz as if they really are below the surface of the water.  I had to add some flowers to this enseble and i also used the flower that i was making when i showed you how i make them.  I added a second image to the inside of my card with some catchy summer/ beach phrases.
MMMMmmm, just noticed i cna enter this into the Roses on paper challenge too, they want layers, lots of layers happening here!

whiff of joy dt

I'm having one of my little speed wobbles with my camera again as you may notice, my photo is a bit dull, i'm sure my son was fiddling witht he settings the other day while he was looking at the camera, which may mean i have to reread the manual, humf, i hate technology, but loving my blog, what a double standard.
Well onto my card for the challenge for this week.  We have a color cahllenge for you and it is: Green and Yellow + another color.  My color is lilac, what? i thought i hated purple or any shade of purple, well the dp had lilac tones on it so that was the color that i decided to go with to break the yellow and green.  Dp by K&Co, was a real bargain, got it from a shop in the UK for next to nothing.  Gave my roses a good ol spritz of the glimmer factor, layered onto a bead cap that i flattened and then loads of pearly flourishes.
since this card also fits the criteria for the challenge on My time to craft i will enter it for thier challenge also.

Showing you How

OK blogettes, i know i am techno challenged so no video tutorials from me, bu i am hoping that these pictures may help.
First of all let me just tell you that you will find it very difficult to punch out some vellum with a normal craft punch so before i went ahead and showed you how i did mine i tried all different grams of vellum and with these pictures i have used a normal stationary trace paper that i colored with adirondack, i think that the normal trace paper is only around 60gsm. so it is tissue thin.
1) this is what you gonna need:  Round nose embossing tool, vellum, A4 printer paper, and i am sure you all looking puzzled at why i have that childrens play roon mat in my picture, well girls i love to use these behind my paper when piercing holes into my paper and it also has the right ammount of give for moulding these petals.  The A4 printing paper will be held loosely behind the vellum paper or trace if it is too flimsy to punch as this will help the punch to slice right through both pieces at the same time giving you a nice clean punched flower.

2) Lightly press with your tool onto each petal making it slighty curve, and once you have done each petal, moving in circular movements, mould the centre until all the petals start to fold in towards the centre.

3)  Now depending on how well they are curled or not, doesnt really matter since you can flatten it or curl it more as you see fit when glueing them together.  However i might just add for you not to start with the samllest centre piece but rather with the flattest piece first and then work your way towards the smallest bud in the centre.
Good luck and i hoe this helps somewhat, for making those filmy vellum flowers, will share my card with you in the morning that i intend to use these flowers on.
If you gonna leave some feedback please be kind, he he
