Totally gorjuss dt

I am a little late in posting this as i didnt schedule the post like i should have and with the challenge for the totally gorjuss challenge blog going live on a Saturday while i keep Shabbos, there wasnt much i could do.
I got this little darling a while ago and i neglected her for a while and then this week i could wait no longer.  I colored her up with my copics, and she was a real dream to color as most of the shading is done on these darling images from Funky kits.
the paper i chose is a random paper from my stash, sorry have been a little slack taking notes this week.  I had the pink lace in my stash, and the flowers are punched and layered and added a pearl centre.
It was so nice to join the gorjussettes for a change and i have been feeling kinda guilty for neglecting them for so long, i HAD to join in this week.
Head on over and see the fabulous work these lovely ladies do to inspire and they have some great ribbon to give away that you wont want to miss out on.
Have a great crafting weekend

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

This week was a real challenge for me as we have a color challenge on Mo's digital pencil challenge blog, "Red, orange, and yellow", a combo that i have never tried and when i saw this i nearly fell off my chair, lol
So while hunting for paper i found this paper by American craft which had all the required colors, but then i kinda go side tracked by the blue.  i have used Sams in trouble again, available from Mo's store.  I have colored my image with copics as usual, had written down all the colors and then lost the slip of paper that i wrote on :(
I stitched around the edges of all my layers, and i must admit i have a brain block when it comes to embellishing boys cards, i cut out these stars and added the buttons, all i could think of for this little darling.
Head on over to the challenge blog the girls have loads of inspiration!

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

time for our challenge on Mo's digital pencil and as oer usual i am so late today as i have been burning the cnadle on both ends again and i started the post this morning and got sidetracked when my son was sent home from school and fogot to post it, duh!!
For my card i am using Aashi available from Mo's store.  Since she is an Indian i had a little challenge coloring her skin as i have never done anything other than European.  I have used oriental oval from Nellies to cut out my image and layered it onto gold and then red basil, used my ek success punch for the border, all the flowers and rhinestones are from my endless stash.

I had to google a search for an Indian greeting for the sentiment, "Namaste" translated as a general greeting.
The long bindi type embellishment i came up with thinking it was fitting for this darling image.. My inside of my card is very simple with the same oriental Nellie and just the dp as a background.

Sweet Love collection preview

I am showcasing nother one of Bec fabulous new release images that will be available shortly from Bizzy Becs store in time for all those valentines creations that you are gonna be making.  This one is Fairy love, so i thought well she ought to be flying, so i made a spinner card using some gut through the centre of my card that she could fly from.

the paper is an old paper pack from American craft with hearts all over it, not sure why i ever bought the paper i think it was the coloring on it that attracted me.  I added two little rolled up scrolls of the dp to the one corner of my card, that could be love letters, added my usual flowers, lots of stickles to her wings, the little hugs and kisses sentiment is one of my old 7 gypsies sentiments, and the pine fern punch is a mcgill that i used with my roses.

hope everyone is having a fab week, i know my week has just started to look up as i found a fabulous dress maker today who is constantly featured in bridal magazines so i am sure she can turn me into a glamorous mother of the groom, so look out for the pics from the wedding after the 20th March.

four seasons in a year

My second post for today and i must add that mr blogger isnt loving me right now, not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but it took me an age to load my photos etc GGGGRRRRR!!
This is a free standing easel that i made from mount board and covered with all my elements, adding an angled piece at the back with hinges so that it would stand on a desk.
I used my newest Magnoila that was sent from the Netherlands by a friend, Thanks Honey, limited edition Tilda only available in the Netherlands right now, "Tilda with skates"
Then i used a few more of my Maggies to depict the four seasons of the year, adding the season to each image so there would be no confusion as to which one represented which season, he he
I am also gonna enter this into a few challenges, as i have used a few of my favourite elements, namley my copics, Maggies, flowers and stickles EVERYWHERE!
Challenge i am entering
Magnolia down under: calendar
copic creations: anything new
Just Magnolia: favourite things
Lets ink it up: Anything goes
Stamp something: anything goes

Wedding invites FINALLY!!

i wanna share these "wedding invites" that i made for my sons upcoming wedding.  This has been a real headache for me, not sure when if ever i shall EVER volunteer such a service again.
I made an embossing folder so they would have their initials on the front panel of the invitation, i think it gives it a personal touch.  Keep in mind that before we settled on this particular invitation i had to make 16 mocks and my future dil, Lisa took elements from a few of them to make up this one.
She wanted lace so we went with the MS ribbon border punch and threaded lace through it.  Not an easy feat when you're making 150 invitations.  When i did a pricing for them, i was told that they thought it was gonna be a labour of love, so i punched all the borders and got the ribbon together put twenty of the invitations into a bag and gave it to Lisa.  She says " whats this"  I replied "Well since you think i am doing this as a labour of love, i am giving you twenty invitations to thread ribbon through, and i wanna know if you love the labour"
It took her five days, LOL!!!
Then to top it all off, i had to make a template for this flourish of pearls so that i could get each invite exactly the same, and i stuck all those pearls down using little drops of glue.  In the picture you can actually see some of the glue before i cleaned it up.

Well the insert Lisa and Jason got printed at the printer and then it was just a case of glueing that in.  We used 2mm magnets to hold the invitation closed.  Still no rest for the dead or peace for the dying, i gotta move my toosh and find someone to make my glamorous mother of the groom outfit for the big day.

Bizzy Bec's store has some new lovelies to add to that collection and just in time for valentines.
We're showcasing "Love cloud" she is such a sweetie and was a real delight to color.  If you head over to the Store blog there's also an opportunity for you to get your hands on these, just by entering your name with Mr Linky.  Bec is such a generous store owner there's always something special for everybody, and she is also offering a geust spot for that lucky person.

I got the opportunity to use my new MS heart border punch, and this devine lace that i have had in my stash and forgotten about.  I added loads of stickles to my image and butterflies, and get this i found this MS butterfly at the NEC for five pounds, what a bargain!  Ther pearls that i have used on the butterflies bodies are available at Bec's store too, so go no further than Bec's you will fnd everything that you need.

My sentiment was computer generated, and surprise of all, you will find my copics listed below

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

A little late today with my card for Mo's dp challenge, but better late than never.  for my card i am using "Anna in time out" available in Mo's store, colored with copics.  I know i have to make a point of saving what color copics i use, will sure try in future.
My image i cut with a nestie, labels eleven, then i used another scalloped rectangle to mat it on.

The flourish that i created i made free hand, sticking all the little pearls down with adhesive.  The sentiment i created using a Just rite stamp with a border.  One of my layers are punched around the page MS punch.  Of course i had to decorate the inside of my card, only to find that i was a little short of paper, so had to make a plan, took a little while to figure how, but managed to pull it all together.

All the dp is fairly old, but one of my favourites, by Melissa Frances, "Stella"
i dont think that i have ever made note of so many of the things that i used and will sure try in future to list them better at the end of my post and be more organised

Pixie Cottage challengedt

Firstly i think i should let you know there is a new challenge on the Pixie cottage challenge blog, and they haqve a really nice easy sketch to follow, so being as hectic as i am right now i decided to keep my life pretty simple and use the available sketch.
Fro my card i used "Udderly adorable girl by Alisa Ramirez" available from The pixie cottage, colored with my copics, an old folder from cuttlebug for my heart with "love embossed onto it, and the sentiment at the bottom of my card is computer generated.  I also used one of my MS punches for around my image and inked the edges with di antique linen.
Then this is a bit of whats going on at the moment.  I know that i have been a bad blogger of late and have a   a lot going on in my personl life lately, but life does happen and i still have a lot gonna happen while i prepare for my sons wedding in just over two months.  As a result of my neglected blog i seem to have lost a few followers and you know what i dont mind, but for those that are hanging in there, "Thanks so much"  it makes all the hours of crafting and sharing worthwhile.
in my previous post i mentioned that i was flying to the coast for my elderly aunt who had had a very bad fall, she has had to have major surgery to repair a broken hip and arm, and is very dissoriented and seems to be very confused, but i'm sure its quite normal at 85years old.  The sugeon who performed the surgery seems optimistic, so we stay ever hopeful that it wont be the last time i see her.
Then i had a call on Monday evening to say that another aunt of mine has had a terrible stroke and is in the icu unit in another hospital also on the coast, since thats where i originally come from all my family are down there.  Well the older i get, the older they get.
I am back home as i cannot stay away from my small children for long since my husband is not really a hands on dad.  So i am also back to working on my crafting stuff and hope to come up with a few things to share, i just wanted to update all my friends in blogland and let you know that i am not ready to throw in the towel just yet!
Have a great week

LOTV challenge

I havent entered a challenge and made a card just for fun for so long that the other night i decided to pull out my sadly neglected LOTV stamps that i bought at the NEC, inked this darling up and colored her with my copics and am gonna enter the sketch challenge on Lily of the valley challenge blog.  I know there are so many entries that the chance of winning is slim to none, but i just wanted to do something fun for a change.
I used loads of stickles on her skirt, crown and around the edges of my layers.  I added a few vines cut from Marianne creatable in with my flowers, not sure you can even see them, but they're there, the sentiment is also a LOTV.  I added the large lush ribbon and a charm to finish it off.

I havent had a chance to finish the inside of my card as i got a call this morning to say that my elderly aunt who9 is 85, is in the ICU in hospital and not doing well, so i cant say when i will be back with my next card, however i do have a few dt cards scheduled for the next few days, will let you now of any fu.rther developements.

Plaguerism!!!!!

This is a SHOCKING reality of cyber space!!! i dont claim to be a saint any day, but i must draw the line somewhere!  I have been accused of this very thing and believe me it left me feeling really LOW!!  The fact that my character and integrity were in question left me reeling.
A couple of weeks ago i came across a site that was hosting a challenge prize, so being who i am i went to see what the possibilities were, "should i be a winner" i mean no point in entering if you dont wanna win the Prize, Right?  I came across a sponsor who had images from a lady whom i know is a fab artist of the most AMAZING FAERIES!! namely Linda Ravenscroft  Lo and behold the people sponsoring were people who had stolen her art work, what do i do?  Well i also work for another lady namely Maurie Manning whose work is uncomparable and finally someone who is willing to take the bull by the horns, she has mad this amazing blinkie to root out all those underhanded individuals, so pop over and get it for your blog.  I have it in my sidebar and would love for my followers to add it to their blog in support of these wonderful artists who share their amazing talents with us humble individuals.  May i suggest that you go and look at the similarities from these two blogs and their images:  http://ididitcreations.com/blog/ and  Linda's blog, the images may have been removed by now from the ididitcreations blog, but i have a memery that stretches beyond time.
thanks for all your time while i waffled away

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

I seem to have started the new year on the wrong foot as i am late as per usual with my post for the new challenge on Mo's dp2, and as usual the girls have cooked up some amazing inspiration!  Our challenge this week is "Retro"  i was stumped and then decided that i would use retro colors for my card.  Also a new member to the team is my amazingly talented friend Pat Frank, so good to have her on the team with me, and what do they say about great minds thinking alike?  well thats when you know that somethings gotta be right with your friendship when you both decide to use the same image in the same week, he he
For my card this week i am using the newest addition to Mo's repetoir "wonder" and she is available at Mo's store.
I colored her up with my copics, layered her onto a Marianne die that i acquired in December.  My flowers are from Prima and i then just added buttons to the centre of them.  Well the rest of the team definitely will have loads of inspiration if i seem a little flat today, hopefully once i get over a few more speed humps i will be back to creating more..
have a great crafting week
