Cards for fun!

I had to do something with myself and my husband has gone on another trip for business so what to do when you're all alone and need to save your sanity?  CRAFT!
The first card i am sharing is another one that i had to play with my new airbrush system on, and i created a spotlight for our dear "Tramp" from Mo's store to stand under.  My brother in law is celebrating a birthday in a couple of months so this will be sent on to him.  I am gonna enter the challenge on Crafts and Me with this card.
Then the second card that i made, i have had this image for a little while and decided that i would just HAVE to make a card with it, isnt it just darling?  I used the sketch on the Sugar bowl so am gonna enter their challenge.  I also made a box for it to be sent in, and you can find my box tutorial HERE

Hope everyone is having a great crafting weekend

P.S: the secret crafter has a new challenge that wants "baby" cards so this one is getting entered there too, and if you have been onto the challenge blog for CES they have a beautiful photo inspiration using gingham so i am entering there also.

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

We have a great new challenge on Mo's dp2 challenge blog, Pink and girly.  Well what could be more girly than pink and makeup, i know my paper is blue, but there is pink there, lol
I had to use this little darling Ella in trouble, once i had colored her in my trusty copics, she looked a little bare with actual makeup, so i went in again with my copics and copied what i see my girls doing when they are playing at being the mummy, lol, get a load of the makeup.
I added a few more of those pearly centres that i got the idea for from Amazing paper Grace, to the centres of my flowers, and then also a double bow to the corner.
My image i had already printed and colored so large it didnt leave much room for anything else, but i am pleased with the end result.
have a great week

EASY box envelope tutorial and card for SCACD

I dont often do tutorials as i am very intimidated by the talent of most of the girls out there, but i knocked this up together in literally four minutes that i thought i have GOTTA share this:
Tools: MS score board, score tool,  scissors, 12" X 12" cardstock

Line the corner of your 12" cardstock on the 6" mark and then line up the edge of the paper along the 6" at the top of the score board.

Score straight down along the 4 3/4"  mark at the top of the score board and then along the 51/2"mark, turn the paper and repeat on all four sides of the cardstock.
Once all four sides are scored you will see that there are interlocking score marks, cut those out as per the picture.

fold the sides along the score lines and adhere the bottom three together, leaving the top open to pop your card into.
How simple is this?  I only do simple, lol
Ok the card i made for the challenge on SCACD challenge: Friends with heart.  The stamp i used is called "Cherry Blossom", colored with my trusty copics, added a flourish down the side of my card, loads of flowers.  I used a NS die to cut my image, the paper is really old and i think its from Amercan crafts.

I do hope that you find this tutorial useful as if you are anything like me that has to add loads of drek to your cards, lol, what i mean is laods of flowers etc, then we all need boxes for them as appsoed to a regular envelope.

Magnolialicious Challenge dt

I know, i know, my post is a number of hours late:  My challenge in life is to be a good Jewess and believe me when i would much rather be blogging than eating matzah for another day longer i am sorely stretched.  Because we live in the Diaspora we have to keep two days of Yom tov, wow, my kids and i couldnt wait for the sun to set today and to see the first three stars to come out to mark the end of our week of Pesach.
Well better late than never:  The challenge this week set by our very own Pat Fank was this delightful picture of her Grand-girls at the Fair, well i think that we all looked at it and scratched out heads.
I decided to make a go of it and made this carousel using a number of images from Diana's store, will list the images below.
All images colored with my trusty copics and given a good going over of stickles.  Used two of my Ek success punches for borders, loads of tiny rhinestones and twisted ribbon to drape over the top of the carousel.  And yes it does spin!
Have a great week crafters and come and join the fun on Magnolia-licious challenge blog

Free time- ME time!

Me time is when i get up to date with a few of my dt commitments and family is all taking care of themselves, kids included and i get to do what i love- CRAFT!  I got myself an airbrush system and have been itching to use it, but am also terrified and intimidated, but decided that i would give it a tentative try today, first time ever that i have turned it on or tried anything like this so be kind.  I masked a few clouds in the sky behind my image, i know. too soft, and then i added little hills in the grass that are hardly visible and then added a few blades of grass over that since you could hardly see the little dips in the grassy field, ah well, better luck next time.
I followed the sketch on:  Magnolia down under
Paper pieced the dress and the hat, adding a few shadows, so it fits the bill for Totally Tilda challenge,
Sketchy colors wanted blue beige and white
Stamptacular Sunday want you to "Pile it on" which is what i normally do, so no problems there, at least five layers.
Cupcake craft also looking for loads of layers

Stamp and scrap want you to have a tag somewhere on your creation
Papertake weekly spots and stripes, her hat and dress and some of the dp have stripes and spots.
Wow i dont think that i have ever managed to squeeze a card into so many challenges, and really this was a complete fluke.  I used "Tilda in rubber boots" item # 3005 available from Diana's store Magnolia-licious.
the tag was cut using a new Marianne Creatable die, the image i used a Octagon Nestie to cut it out with.  All the embellies, flowers,  ribbons, pearls and charm are all from my stash.
have a great week

MIC challenge

I just realised in my haste to get ahead with some of my dt assignments i made this card for a challenge in May, DUH!!! by then easter will be long gone!!Ok so now that i have had some enlightenment i had to go and delete it from the dt blog and not being one to miss an opportunity, they are wanting us to color black hair on the challenge for Make it colourful.
My image was matted onto a NS die which i threaded ribbon through and then added lots of pearls.  I stitched around the edges of my dp, distressed the edges of my matting.  I have layered my flowers with punched out fern branches, roses and buds.
The lace of my little Tilda image, which is Tilda holding egg basket item #369 available from Magnolia-licious store where Diana will give you exceptional service was also given a lavish going over of stickles star dust, not sure you can even see them here.
Copcis used for the purple and black:  V09, V05, V01, V000     C7, C5, C3, C1
Happy easter all

P.S:  7 kids college fund challenge also want easter cards, so i am gonna enter this little ensemble there too.

Totally gorjuss dt

Hi stampers its that time of week for another challenge over on Totally gorjuss, this week we are being sponsored by whoopsie daisy and all the dt members have used images from our sponsor.  There were so many images to choose from that i had a real hard time deciding and eventually decided to go with this whimsical Fairy.
I colored her with copics and gave her wings and the edges of my image a good going over with star dust stickles, the matting around my image is a MS corner punch that i chopped up and added each corner piece around my image, then the little leaves are one of those random punches that we all have in our stash, had to add those too, just for the forresty feel of this darling little Fairy.
Some pearls to the corners and ribbon and then of course i just couldnt resist a large flower in the corner with a little tag that i computer generated a "wish" sentiment onto.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend

wee Sweetie

I just had to have a go at making another card, before i burrow under for another day of gazing into empty space over Shabbos.
I got this darling wee stamp a while ago and hadnt used her although i had printed out a number of them ready at hand when i would need them, so this is a golden opportunity.  I am enterng this card into the challenge on Anything goes: Pink and brown, and then i am gonna enter the challenge on Crafts and me:  Pink and sweet.
Have a great week and see you back here soon
