The paper shelter dt

We have another fabby challenge for you on the Paper Shelter challenge blog and this week its "Fancy folds"

I hadnt made a tent card in ages and once i saw this new image Acrobat little doll available in the shop HERE i just had to use her.

I colored my image with copics, cut it out, added a small chain for her to dangle in the aperture, mirrored the layers of ribbon from the image onto the card base, making tiny bows and adding flowers, Since she's a performer i added loads of stickles to give her the added glam factor.
Used one of my MS border punches to add to the inside layer of my card and had to add the little floral rhinestones to finish it off.  The dt have done a great job for inspiration so do pop in and have a look, perhaps join in our fun challenge this week on the  Paper Shelter challenge blog

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

I know my cards have become rtaher boring of late, i just need to find where my mojo is hiding.  Our challenge on Mo's challenge blog this week is "Lace"
The image i used is available HERE from Mo's store.  Colored with my copics, the paper is a paper pack from Papermania.
Since we are using lace i thought, well a doily even although paper is still kinda lacey, and then as a last minute ditch for the lace i found this floral one in my stash.  i stared at this for about an hour before i relented and gave in to adding the flowers in the corner.
And thanks to Pat Frank again for the sentiment, hell i really dont know whats happened to me, i cant seem to come up with anything these days, i may just need a holiday, like to USA or Sweden, lol
see y"all soon

while i'm away

I know that most of you think i must be twiddling my thumbs, but i am by no means idle.  I have gotten quite gung ho on the diy front.  I found this table last year at hospice/ goodwill and as you will see it needed tons of love.  I got it home, sanded it, wood filled the breaks after glueing them and clamping them, and then forgot about it.

So while my sister was here helping me move house a few months back we found this table base that we thought may be nice to make a lamp out of, well it turns out that my repair job on the forementioned table obviously left a lot to be desired as it fell apart, the legs were just too far gone and the table top well that could live another life.  So i painted the clock face onto the table top and then attached the top to the centre support using dowel sticks, must just tell you this was another project that almost didnt see the light of day as the glue i used took FOREVER to dry.  I think it does well in our living room.

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

I am such a shmuck!  i made my card over the weekend and thought i have all week till Thursday to load to the dt group and clean forgot to load my card, as a result you wont see my card on the dt blog this week, but here it is for the fabulous Mo challenge which is "My sentiments Exactly"
Here is where i have to tell you that this isnt my sentiment exactly, since as you will know by now looking at most of my cards i so seldom add sentiments as i never know what is appropriate and words just fail me.  So while chatting on skype the other night with my teamy Pat Frank i picked her brain for a sentiment and she gave me this one " Oh the places you"ll go"
the little buttons were also her idea to finish off the card.  The frame on the image is a mixture of a few flourishes that i cut of Spellbinders labels to achieve this look.  The paper was from a paper pack from Do crafts called gift wrapped.  And my image is from Mo's store HERE

A peek at the inside of my card.

Do pop past the challenge blog and see what the other talented ladies made.

P.S:  the die cut i used between my flowers was a gift for my Birthday in December from my friend Shazi, thanks doll!

Tomic challenge 37

The fab new recipe challenge "3-2-1"  is currently running on Tomic.  I gotta say that this one was fun, until i was emailed to say that i had used grass die cuts on my card and it was a no! no!  I had to pull them off and ended up tearing my dp and corners that i had on my card, thank goodness i didnt end up messing up my image as that would have been a disaster.

So after removing the die cuts and adding a new card front and corners, this is was we now have:
I decided to make a centre step card which i havent tried before, i followed the tutorial on splitcoast stampers, but their instructions left my centre panel too narrow so i just adjusted the measurements to suit myself.

Stamps:  Tilda sending love letter, Tilda with cozy heart, Magnolia sentiment on the front of my card,   a gift from my friend Shazi on the inside of my card
Papers:  Glitz, basil
Embellishments:  flowers and rhinestones from my stash

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

Our new challenge for this week for Mo's challenge blog is up and this weeks its "Bingo"
It kinda goes without saying what i chose:  dies/punches, glitter and flowers.
I am so predictable, but i seem to have a real weakness for glittah and flowers, one of my friends was moaning saying that glittah makes such a mess, duh! thats half the fun.

Recently i seem to be so far behind the times and hadnt used this adorable Ragged Romeo available from Mo's store, so when i remebered i had it somewhere in my stash i had to use it.
Hope you gonna come play with us this week on Mo's.

P.S: the paper is an OOOOOLLLLDDDD one from MME, so many friends asked about this paper that i had to let you all know before you have a need to ask, lol

finding a happy balance in my bedroom

when we first moved into our house i found that this random window we had above our bed was not centred for the bed to be in the middle of the room, AAARRRGGG!! well while browsing i found this amazing bedroom transformation by Olga over on stardust deco and style you gotta go check it out.
I do realise that hers looks way more wow than mine, but i am sure you can agree its a huge improvement.
So initially i added the white tulle over the bed while my husband was on a business trip to China i got all gung ho wanting to surprise him, since when i suggested doing this he said we would have to get someone in to do it.
Well i didnt get anyone in, i almost killed myself standing on one of my side tables drilling the hole into the ceiling which is concrete and i had the drill on the wrong setting for masonry, we live and learn.
Well i decided the other day that the tulle wasnt enough of a gather so went and bought some very pale turquiose to add to the gather and i much prefer the added tulle.
now that i thin its done i may want to have to paint the walls here with a few vertical stripes, we'll see.

stool makever

If you follow my blog and read about my new studio you will know that i love a bit of the old rumaging in junk and finding trash that i can turn into a treasure.  Ao for sometime now my girls have had a very fugly plastic chair at their bedroom dresser, while rummaging through some junk at the thrift shop i came across this stool.

I decided to give it a deep plum coat of paint and then recover the seat with some pink fabric that had little silver shiny bits on it too, then add the gathered tulle around the edging to give a girly feel and covered the centre gather on the tulle with some twill ribbon.
I am so pleased with how it tutned out i painted some drawers aswell, will share the drawers later.

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

we have a new challenge for you on Mo's challenge blog and this week its so easy, either "anything goes" and or the above sketch from Iulia.
I hadnt used this darling "winter fairy Talva" available from Mo's store, however had seen so many delightful cards made with her that i was inspired to use her, love this image, i am sure i say that all the time about Mo's images, cant help myself.
i followed the sketch, so the rest was quite easy, this paper is all from Prima, seem to have a lot of Prima papers in my stash that i had forgotten about.  I gave my llittle fairy wings a good going over with the stardust stickles.  The sentiment is computer generated.
have a great weekend see Y"all soon
