Mo's dp 2 challenge

A reminder that there is a new challenge on Mo's challenge blog looking for pearls and flowers, and this challenge was set by me, unofrtunately i have a tale to tell:
BOOM CRASH!!! my poor laptop has finally decided to give up the ghost!  My son the hunny, took my laptop to do an overhaul about three weeks ago, the thing came back working like a demon.  It was super fast, everything was one click away, so yesterday morning i had some running around to do and left it on, no problem there, however when i came back to it i noticed that it had fallen into sleep mode, SLEEP MODE? try as i may, i couldnt rouse him , it seem after i called my son the IT doc, the prognosis was very poor.  Seems my two year old laptop has seen the last of me.  I must have worked the poor thing to death!
So now i am on the home PC thats older than my ancestors and doesnt support the software on my camera, do you think i can find the disc to reload to my home pc, thats no where to be seen.
Oh well will try and get sorted soon, please be patient while i try and sort out this nightmare i call my life.
see y"all soon

Magnolia-licious new challenge dt

Do you ever start a project having something in your minds eye of how it will turn out, finish the project and it doesnt look anything like you were hoping?  This is one of those times for me.
We were given a photo inspiration for this challenge:
i loved this picture when i saw it and straight away my mind was racing with ideas.  I have used "ribbon haired Tilda #221 mini, available from Magnolia-licious store, the background stamp is a local South African company, "County Crafts"  i was so happy with my paper choice and colors, until.... i colored the sky, it really looks like poor Tilda is waiting for a storm, but because of all the lilac tones i couldnt make the sky too blue, and then of course as we all know, we run out of time to redo things.

The team have really done a fantastic job on their cards so please head over to the Magnolia-licous challenge blog to check out the inpiration and join us, i look forward to seeing all the great work.

Tilda tags

This will be one of those real quick posts as i am alone AGAIN! yep my dh is off on another business trip and this time round i am having a hard time getting my head round this idea that he gets to check out from the constant demands of little ones and jet off to sleep in a hotel for a few days and sleep in if the mood stikes him, ah!!! those were the days, when i could sleep all day, lol
Ok on to my tags, they are having a tag challenge on Totally Tilda and since i just needed to do something i decided to make my three tags.  I colored my images with my warm gray copics.  Each of my images have been cut out.  I then stamped a second image and colored parts of the image in color, so that i could then punch out a section of the image and add it to the centre of another stamped magnifying glass, i added some dimensional glaze over this and voila! it actually looks magnified!

These darling little Tilda's are all available from Magnolia-licious store their number and names are listed below:
Tilda with wedding gifts:  #249, Christmas Eve Tilda  i think that this one is out of stock as i couldnt find it listed and then lastly Christmas party Tilda #3022.

Totally gojuss dt

Time for another challeng on the Totally gorjuss challenge blog and this week, challenge 81 we want to see "Water", anything depicitng water.

When i saw the challenge this week i remembered making a card very similar to this a llllloooonnnnggg time ago and decided to give it another go.  When you think of water, dont you think of seeing a reflection in the water?  i do!
The image is from Mo's store here, oh i just love this image.
To do this with a digi image is real easy and of course you can since it doesnt come with the clause of not duplicating via a printer.  Once you have imorted the image to your document for printing, just flip the view horisontally and print two images, VOILA!! i did however soften the ammount of ink it would print with as i didnt want a crisp image for the reflection, colored my two images identically and then just added a bit of my white gel pen for shimmerz on the water, to give the rippled look of water.
All the embellies are from the stash.
Hope you are inspired to join in with our water challenge

Gonna enter this card into the challenge on:

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

We have a new challenge on Mo's dp2 challenge blog, "distressing"  you can interpret this however you like, distress the edges with distress inks, rough up the edges, whatever!
For me that means free reign, lol.  I used both the distressing techniques i mentioned and had so much fun!
My dear friend Sharon sent me a little parcel sharing her new found wealth of stash, just when i was thinking about what i was gonna make for this challenge.  The shaped card base is from Sha, the blue flower i used on the card, from Sha, THANKS HONEY!!
the little leaves that you see around the flower are a new Marianne die that i got a few weeks ago and hadnt really had much of a chance to use.
Since we are distressing and i love the idea of the feathers on the wings of Tuesday"s child, available at Mo's store i thought that the feathers around the edges of my card would give it an added whimsical, distressed look.
the butterfly got a good going over with star dust stickles, and a little bow to finish it off.
The inside of my card just got the feather and another butterfly, i am so pleased with the end result.
Now for my little secret:  while this post goes live, it is a scheduled post, i am at the offices of one of the sattelite channels for dstv in SA, we are filming a show of me showing how i use copics, promise when they give me the show on dvd i intend to share it either on my blog or on You tube, sure that will be a good laugh!
Now head over to the Challenge blog and join in this weeks fun

Fairy new obsession

I recieved some fairies in the post the other day after ordering from Sweet pea stamps, let me tell you from a customers perpective, THIER SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL!  When i ordered i noticed on their site it says to give them time for manufacture, posting etc, i thought, here goes....... its gonna take forever, hell no, i had my stamps within two weeks of my order, and i live in deepest darkest Africa.  Thats what i call service.
Ok now onto this amazing  new little fairy, "blue Fairy, from Melissa Dillman
Colored with my trusty copics, cut with labels fourteen, her wings got a good going over with stardust sticles

Patterned paper from Graphics 45, you will definitely see more of this gorgeous paper in the future i love it!
Sentiment stamp from LOTV
Ribbon, flowers and butterflies from my stash, i had to color the butterflies to match my card so used my airbrush with copics.
Added some dazzling diamonds to the edges of all my layers.
Gonna enter this card into the following two challenges:
Sweet pea stampers: showers of flowers
In a sweet pea dream: bling it up

Easel cake card

Hells bells i am ot sure if you call this an easel cake card, i dont even remember where i saw it, but there have been a few around of late.  There was a tutorial that i came across also, but all in inches and 5/8ths etc, didnt make sense to me so i just did this on a wing and a prayer.
This delightful little image Tilda with small gift is available from Magnolia-licious, however so popular that she is unavailable right now, sure it wont be long before Diana has her back in the store.

I had so much fun putting this together and managed to dig in and use some of my new punches, die cuts, paper and flowers.  I also have loads of paint, dont know when or why i thought i was gonna become a Picasso rip off artist, but i have a weakness for anything craft related, sure we all have, lol.  I dug into the paints and found this fab puff paint, when you heat it, it puffs up, so i thought it would be great to do the icing with.

I am gonna enter the following challenges with this little ensemble:
Addicted to stamps: Pink and brown
Magnolia down under: Favourite things, mine are all over the place like a rash, pearls, flowers and of course Tilda
DYSU: Add a tag
Just Magnolia: Lace
Thats it for now, have a great week

Mo's dp 2 challenge dt

While we in South Africa are pulling out the winter woollies you are all gearing up for summer, so it was such a pleasure to have to make a card for the newest challenge on Mo's challenge blog where this week we want to see "Here comes summer."  The challnege totally warmed me up.
I have used Out There for my image, available at Mo's store, i normally have such a brain block when it comes to boys cards, however must add that since this image was so delightful and of course since its one of Mo's fabulous images, this card came together quite painlessly, lol
All the little charms and embellies are from my stash, my image was colored with my copics, sorry no list of colors this time.  I layered my image onto two fluer de lis spellbinders and then popped the image for a bit of dimension.  The tabs are also cut from spellbinder dies and the added pearls are also from the never ending ever growing stash.  Head over to the challenge blog to check out the rest of the teams inspiration AND.......
We have a geust dt call out for those of you that have always wanted to play on Mo's so dont forget to try out for that.
Look forward to visiting and seeing all the wonderful creations your clever bloggers come up with
have a great week

Magnolia-licious new challenge dt

Our fabulous new challenge on Magnolia-licious challenges is a color challenge this week and it is " Black and white + another color of your choice"  The color of my choice was purple as you can see by my card.  Whats up with that?  i dont normally do purple as i am a pink girl, but there you go, different day, different mood i geuss.
For my card i used Indian Tilda available from Magnolia-licious store where you get service with a smile, sadly lacking in South Africa these days, and speedy delivery i amy add from Diana's store
I added loads if pearls to this ensemble and star dust stickles, sadly i didnt take note of my copics that i used.
The inside of my card is as simple as the outside, but i really didnt want to hide all of this blingy patterned paper.
As this post goes live i am gearing up for a major accomplishment for myself, will share details later so watch this space.  Also if you have notcied i have finally hit 500 followers which i never imagined sould happen and i am alomost on to 90,000 hits, so watch out for a candy posting as soon as i have time to come up for air.
have a great week

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

This post will be scheduled as i am having major laptop problems and my son is taking it away to reload EVERYTHING! yikes! i know its gonna come back and i am gonna have to learn to reuse the thing, but like it is, is  like pulling teeth SLOWLY!! a painfull excercise.
Right this week the challenge on Mo's challenge blog is "Monochrome" and i thought just in case, the definition for monochrome is:  Shades of a single color.
For my card i am using Young Love available from Mo's store.  Every time i see this image i pray that my dh and i will be just like this when we get there, in the near future, lol.
I used one of my Ek success punches around the image, the tabs are made using a cuttlebug emboss and cut die, the pearls and lace are from my stash.
Head over to the Challenge blog and check out what the other talented Mo team have cooked up and join in our fun challenge
