EB guest dt call

There are just over 24hours left to enter the EB guest dt call and these darling stamps that i have had forever are so neglected, so i dusted them off and inked them up, whipped up a card using sketch #1 on the dt call.
Colored my image with copics as usual, see below for colors used.  I used one of my NS mfd's to cute the mat for my image, inked all the edges with distress ink, faded jeans, added a few pearls and roses.

i found that i even had time to decorate the insides of my card, but haven't added a sentiment as i am not sure who i will be using this card for.  Now if you follow my blog i mentioned the other day that i had some news:  Look at this new FAB personalised stamp, designed just for me by the generous and phenomenally talented Mo Manning thank you sooooo much Mo, you are a real honey.  There is only one of these out there and its MINE!!!
happy stamping girls, only a few more sleeps till i go to the NEC Birmingham, and when i get back i am sure gonna have some stash to share.

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

Time for a new challenge over on Mo's challenge blog and this week we wanna see " change of season"
For us in South Africa its Spring/ summer so for my change of season i think its gotta be spring.  I am using "Sundays child" available at Mo's store.  My image was colored with my copics, the flowers were made using a Marianne design die and a punch, and then i just added a centre of a smaller paper flower with a rhinestone, i got the idea to carry the flowers off the image through to the card also adding flourishes.  The sentiment is an old WOJ sentiment that i had in my stamps and had forgotten about.
i had to give her lace on the dress a good going over with stardust stickles and then i gave the sentiment the same treatment.  My card this week is very simple, but i so love coloring and playing with Mo's images and lets face it, her images can carry their own on a card without all the extra embellishments.  I have a little surprise to share so pop past later today.
Now head over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the talented girls have to inspire you with.

EB challenge

I like to send a note card with orders that i recieve for crafty goodies and i always seem to love sending these round swivel cards, notes.  They have a perfect challenge on Elizabeth Bell's world this month, ideal for helping me get ahead and be ready for when i send off orders.  I made five note cards to go inside my little note card bag.

The bag was made using my Marianne creatable die, and then i have had this darling little stamp since the begining of my stamping journey, it was one of the first stamps that i purchased from Funky kits, called "post box"  My little note cards of course could not have the whole stamp on it.  I colored all my images with copics layered them with nesties and added different embelishments for each so they would all be different, with the same coloring and image to match the bag.

unfortuantely because i made the top of the bag threaded onto the handle i couldnt get a good pic of the cards in the bag so this is gonna have to suffice.

Pixie Cottage dt

We have a new challenge for you at The Pixie cottage and by now i'm sure you know that you can either follow the sketch, or the theme.  This weeks theme is to use metal on your project and here's the sketch:
for my card i am using Simply the best by Artish available in the store.  Now those of you that follow my blog know by now that i am not the CAS type, but i didnt want to detract too much from the beauty of this beautiful rose and wanted to highlight her to the best of my limited CAS ability.

I also didnt have any paper that i thought would be good or this particular image so i made my own using stamps that i have had in my stash forever.  I had so much fun using my embossing powders and stash that hasnt seent he light of day for so long all the little bottles had a film of dust on them.  I stamped all over my cardstock using versafine clear embossing pad and then used an embossing powder that has a shimmer in it, for my background.  Then on the white i used copper embossing powder.  I had these metal corners and they were the wrong color so i used more copper embossing powder on those to change the color.  I stamped my image three times and colored them with copics and then layered them onto my focal image to give them a real pop!

Not sure if you can see all the details on these photos.  Please pop past the Pixie cottage challenge blog and see what the other ladies have to inspire you, and have a great crafting week.

Pink Tilda

Oh yeah!! this is right up my alley, i just LURV PINK!!My shop that i had for almost five years was PINK!!
Found this picture of part of the shop just for good measure:

i was just asked if i miss the shop?  If you've ever had a shop that you built from nothing, you will understand my answer:  Yes i miss the shop, but being a shop owner i dont miss one bit.  People can take such advantage of you being creative and in a shop all day they think they can pick your brain anytime of day or night.  So miss the shop, but dont miss my customers, is that a horrid thing to say?
Now for my card i had to use this new little Tilda with her arms outstretched for a hug, had to do away with the holley in her hair so added ribbons.  I am using the sketch from Friday sketches, the dp is Marie Frances, i gave each of my layers a going over around the edges with some stardust, i used a Marrianne design die cut behind my image, one of my ticket stamps for the sentiment.  I am gonna enter this into the challenge on Just Magnolia since their challenge this week is for PINK, and then of course i checked my google reader and found the newest challenge on totally Tilda is for "pink and pearls", how lucky is that since i added these flourishes on my card. There's another great challenge on Mark's finest papers and they want die cuts or punches.

Since i am now decorating the insides of my cards, i thought it quite fitting to have a little Tilda blowing "stardust kisses" and carried through the flourishes to the inside and the sentiment is computer generated.

Hope you girls are all enjoying your crafting as much as me this weekend

Kenny K's weekly challenge dt

Time for a new challenge over on Kenny K's Krafty Girlz and the girls definitley know how to get the creative juices going, so head over and see what they came up with to inspire you this week.  The challenge set by Bev this week is to use a recipe: 2 x 2, be that 2 ribbons, two flowers or two papers and two bows, that is up to you to interpret.  Before you do, this is what i came up with:
Using the new from Christmas digi's, Xmas shopping, colored with my copics and then giving her fur trim a going over with a puff pen.  I used two dp, two flowers, two frames for my image and lots of little rhinestones to help with the festive feel of all the Xmas shopping.  I also used my new Christmas sentiment from the new Mag kit and embossed it with gold embossing powder, then since i had decided to use embossing powder for the outer sentiment i went the whole hog and used some of that glitter embossing powder for the inside sentiment too, i dont think my heat gun knew what to do with all the heat embossing going on.  So much stuf to use that the old stuff gets a bit neglected, but i think for Xmas the embossing powder is the THING!
I really gotta agree with the advice i was given that finishing the insides of my cards just finishes them off.
Happy crafting

Totally gorjuss dt

Time flashes by and we have arrived at another Saturday and i have hardly come up for air.  We have a great challenge for you this week on Totally Gorjuss, "Sparkle"
Now if you're anything like me, you love the glitz, the more the bettah!!!
I recieved my new stamp kit from Magnolia almost two weeks ago and havent really had much of a chance to play, so for this card i am using "Flying angel and Starlight Angel".
I made a tent card and then added a piece of clear gut in the aperture of my card and attached my flying angel to the gut wire, adding another grey piece of cardstock behind the image to silhouette her so that she could spin.  I thought the little starlight could be added to the edge of my  Joy craft die.

Added lots of stickles to my card and then i found these flowers that are made from some kinda clear glass resin.  I followed through on my card to the back with the same design so that the card can actually be addressed to someone.
thanks for stopping by

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

Time for our weekly challenge at Mo's, this week we are doing a color challenge, "Fall colors".
I hadnt used this little darling yet, Saide with apples, she is available at Mo's store and was such a pleasure to color.  I know that i have used this dp to death, but it is so beautiful and i have had so much of it, i couldnt resist.
I used one of my Ek punches for around my image and then also to decorate the inside of my card.  I just had to use my flowers, they are rather neglected of late, not enough hours in the day to do all the things i really want to do, but hopefully i will find more time soon.
I also havent used enough of the endless stash of ribbon and thought to add the organza ribbon as part of my ensembel of flowers, not overly sure of this idea, but trying it can only help me for the next time.
hope everyone is having a great week.

Pixie Cottage dt

This is my first post as a new dt memeber for the Pixie cottage and i dont think i have ever been so nervous, dont know whats up with that, i geuss its just cos i'm the newbie.  Ou challenge this week is something "Sweet" you can interpret this any way you like.  For me this stamp says sweet, 1: he is real sweet, 2: he's holding a tray of cookies and what could be more sweet than that?
This stamp is called "Pepe le Penguin Le Chef" by Allisa Ramirez available from the Pixie Cottage online store, you will find such a wide array of beautiful stamps available and so versatile.
For my addition to this weeks challenge i made a recipe folder, i am making a whole book for my future DIL, for this particular addition i have made pocket in the front and inside for tags that i will add my favourite cookie recipe's to.
I was really lucky when thinking about what i was gonna put together for this challenge as i came across these older stamps in my stash that say "menu" and the stamp for the back of my card that say "from the kitchen of".
The dp is lcally South African and the ribbon from my stash.

Head over to the challenge blog and see what other sweetness the rest of the girls have cooked up to inspire you, and enter our challenge we would love to see what you come up with.

Totally Gorjuss dt

This week on Totally gorjuss our challenge is "Pink".  For those of you that have played along with us since the begining, "Happy birthday to us", yes its our birthday this week, a whole year that we have been going and if you remember the first challenge on TG was Pink, so we are revisitng.
For my card this week i am using a LOTV image "mirror, mirror" and isnt she the sweetest little image?
I added a very large pearl flourish down the side of my card, and a few chery blossoms and roses, especially for the girly pinky feel of this card.  If you look closely i have also added a few teeny tiny pearls to her necklace.
Some of the local girls have been asking me to make templates for the flourishes i make down the side of my cards, you see all these flourishes that i use are not those store bought adhesive ones, i lay down dots of glue and then add the flat backed stones to them.  I have loads of colors and sizes so its not too difficult.  Must say that i am also enjoying decorating the insides of my cards and believe that the advice i was given that it finishes my cards off nicely was quite right.

Thats enough waffling from me, head over to the Totally gorjuss challenge blog and see what the rest of the team came up with to inspire you this week

Mo's dp2 challenge dt

This week we have a nice easy challenge for you on Mo's challenge blog this sketch.
For my card this week i am using " Strawberry girl" available from Here.  Dont you just know it i was looking through my paper trying to decide what i was gonna use for my card this week and i found this paper from Basic Grey, dont aks when i bought it as i have never really liked basic grey and have always professed that it is exactly what the name suggests "basically grye" colorless and without appeal.  So this was a pleasant surprise.
With this darling image and paper that couldnt have been more fitting, all i had to do was add a sentiment which i cut with one of the spellbinder labels, added some teeny tiny pearls around it, used a bit of vintage photo for a bit of a distress, added some gysophyllias and roses, with a sprig of leaves  punched with a Leone Em punch and a few pearls in the corners.

For the inside i punched hearts and turned them into strawberries, added some more of this beautiful paper, and followed it through to the back of my card also.

Enjoy the weekend
