taking time out for me

Ok things are really heating up in this house, the move is now inevitable and boxes are appearing all over the place, i am still sanding and renovating a few old pieces of furniture thats gotta look new for the new house and my husband is planning a business trip to China the week of the move.  If you are wondering how he can leave me with a house to move and three kids, imagine a screaming lunatic with more to do than one person can cope with and you get a pretty good picture of why he can decide to escape the move, lol.
So after sanding down a seat for the girls room and not having much joy today as the sander has now decided to give up the ghost so i gotta go get a new one tomorrow, i sat my weary toosh down and decided to make a card with an image that i have had colored for quite a while and enter it into the challenge on Sassy Cheryls blog  where the challenge is to use pink and a die cut.

I have certainly used pink and my die cut is a spellbinder that i used to mat my image.
Have a great week

P.S:  As we are all aware it is breast cancer awareness month and there is a new challenge called link up for pink in a breast cancer awareness campaign. so i am using my card to link up to the challenge as for those that know me will know this is a cause very close to my heart, perhaps later today i will be brave enough and share My story on my blog.

Tomic challenge 19

A nice new easy cahllenge for those Magnolia fans on TOMIC this week, use a doohickey and a seated image on your creation.
I have decided to use Edwin with butterfly from the butterfly dreams collection for my card, i colored hime with copics and just totally enjoyed using an Edwin for a change, the poor dears are so neglected as we all go for girls first, but this time i had to play with this little darling.
My dear friend Barb made cards like this a few weeks ago and i loved the design of the circle folded in half to make a rocker card, so cased this idea from her.  Also those tiles that you see looking very much like scrabble pieces i actually downloaded and you can find out about them HERE
i used the flourish doohickey for my card, added some star brads that i inked to give them a more masculine feel, ribbon from my stash and some gauze from my medicine cabinet.
On the inside of my card i used another of the doohickeys a vintage tag and added some paint around the edges and a couple of butterflies to tie the whole lot together.
have a wonderful week

life is HECTIC!!!!

Well as i said my life is hectic right now, we are all gearing up for our Yom Kippur fst on Saturday and i am counting the days till my move into my very OWN house.
Today i tackled our store room, it is amazing the kinda junk we all hang onto in the hope of needing it someday.  I threw out a vacuum cleaner, still working, just outdated and been replaced, a computer monitor, fax, copier and scanner that ran out of ink so was put in the store room about three years ago, when it went into the storeroom my Mr said i may want that one day for my office, YEAH RIGHT! well all the maybe's and may need are now at the Hospice charity shop, gone and forgotten, wait till he finds out!
After slaving like a demon all day i decided to take time out to do some crafting just for fun and made a card for the challenge on the Saturated canary cahllenge blog, what fun this was to color, the lines are so fine and the image was really dainty, love this.
the papers are from the never ending stash and these are Prima, i added loads if flowers and some  punched leaves from a Leone Em punch, and one fo my big ass bows.
Thats it for now friends hopefully i wont be missing for too long

Tomic challenge 18

Happy Birthday Magnolia, and we are celebrating with another fab challenge Halloween and since we celebrating we would like to see anything but a card.

Boy did i have a hard time deciding what to do, we dont celebrate halloweeen in SA, and being Jewish we dont do halloween so i was kinda stumped.  I decided to make a pumpkin, and firstly the pumpkin i made when shown to my friend she said, wow! that sure is big, so i binned it and started again to make a smaller pumpkin, well this beauty you see took another four tries before it looked anything like the LARGE original.

I added lots of leaves and i made some twirly pipe cleaners that i dipped into some glittah.
And after deiciding to use the little Tilda with her broom, unfortunately i cant seem to find her name anywhere right now, i thought she kinda looked like little miss muffet so i made a spider using felt and some pipe cleaners, i had forgotten i had them, now i cant stop using them, lol.
And lastly with a led light inside to light the eye and nose features i cut into my pumpkin.
Enjoy the celebrations with us

sharing a freebie

scrabble letters can be found by clicking on the link above, i found these by accident, what i have done is i downloaded the freebie, sized it in word, printed it and adhered it to some fun foam and voila! i now have an endless supply of scrabble letters just the size i want for my cards.
I hope you find this useful and enjoy!
