Wedding invites FINALLY!!

i wanna share these "wedding invites" that i made for my sons upcoming wedding.  This has been a real headache for me, not sure when if ever i shall EVER volunteer such a service again.
I made an embossing folder so they would have their initials on the front panel of the invitation, i think it gives it a personal touch.  Keep in mind that before we settled on this particular invitation i had to make 16 mocks and my future dil, Lisa took elements from a few of them to make up this one.
She wanted lace so we went with the MS ribbon border punch and threaded lace through it.  Not an easy feat when you're making 150 invitations.  When i did a pricing for them, i was told that they thought it was gonna be a labour of love, so i punched all the borders and got the ribbon together put twenty of the invitations into a bag and gave it to Lisa.  She says " whats this"  I replied "Well since you think i am doing this as a labour of love, i am giving you twenty invitations to thread ribbon through, and i wanna know if you love the labour"
It took her five days, LOL!!!
Then to top it all off, i had to make a template for this flourish of pearls so that i could get each invite exactly the same, and i stuck all those pearls down using little drops of glue.  In the picture you can actually see some of the glue before i cleaned it up.

Well the insert Lisa and Jason got printed at the printer and then it was just a case of glueing that in.  We used 2mm magnets to hold the invitation closed.  Still no rest for the dead or peace for the dying, i gotta move my toosh and find someone to make my glamorous mother of the groom outfit for the big day.

  9. Hi Paola, I know the work that went into these! We've spent many hours on Skype while you work on those and I work on my own projects. I have to say though you did and exceptional job on them. Never in a million years have any other couple had such exquisitely made invitations! This job was more than a labor of love, it was like being in labor for endless day!!! Big, big KUDOS to you my dear friend for this awesome work...hugs...Barb

  10. Very Elegant, I must say. Love the initials, great touch. When I made the invitations for my daughter and my sons wedding last year, we had a workshop, where the bridesmaids came and helped make the invitations, we had a production line going. It did help that Paige had 6 bridesmaids who came to help! xxx

  11. I love your invites, isn't it fullfilling to be able to do those for your son. I made my first ones 2 years ago. I just made food for the one this past weekend. I wish your son and new DIL a very blessed marraige.

  15. The world see the invites before the guests, kind of an anti climax.

  19. Stunning colour combination & very stylish indeed. These traditional ceremonies are very special. My own Mum conducted my wedding at my husband's request. Reading of your own involvement with your son's wedding reminded me of the day & all that was needed in preparation. Wishing you a all a memorable & joyous day.
