Well its Saturday and that means there is a new challenge on Totally gorjuss, to create soemthing with "water". To me water and bubbles go hand in hand, only problem is that if you live in Africa, you cannot rely on anything. We have a problem this side of the world called "COPPER THIEVES", now i see you scratching your head, so let me fill you in: These fools seem to crawl outa the woodwork on a regular basis, they dig up the copper wiring which we rely on for telephone connections etc, not giving a thought to the fact that they may get electrocuted, and thats it you are stuck without any contact with the rest of the world till some clever somebody comes along to do the reapirs. I have been in such a lather about this as i have not been able to do anything online for about 48 hours, serious withdrawals.
I missed the deadline for the dt challenge but am still doing my post as i am gonna enter this into the Magnolialicious highlights challenge. I used bubble blower Tilda, made my free standing pop up card using a piece of acetate for my pop up bit, then i added some dimensional glaze to the acetate for the bubbles and just to show you how cold my studio gets, it cracked while it was drying. I thought i was gonna redo it and then thought, why? it looks exactly like bubbles with all the added cracked bubbles inside of bubbles that we sometimes get.
Image was colored with copics, lots of diamond stickles, and i made my flowers with various sizes of EK Success flower punches. Hope you like it.
smiles
Paola
P.S: cant begin to explain how relieved i am to be back on line, SHEW!

Very pretty stand-up card, Paola! I like how the glaze naturally cracked while drying as it gave the bubble a special effect. Great idea to use acrylic for the pop-up...I love it! Copper thiefs? We have that problem in Hawaii also. They take it from the freeway, the golf course, anywhere they can find copper and yes, no water and no lights. Sigh! Hugs, Cami
ReplyDeleteLove the new look! Your card is stunning as usual. My phone is down too - has been for about two weeks, but weirdly enough, the internet is still working?? Maybe they only stole half a cable here. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Paola! You're not alone...we have copper theives here in Texas too! What will people stoop to next? Any-hooo! Your Free Standing Pop Up card is totally gorgeous. What a very cook idea to use the acetate for the tag portion and to have the bubbles look so realistic! I love your coloring, the whole projects is really stunning. Well done, my friends...hugs...Barb
